Hawker

   Picnic Spots

Blue Burt Park - opposite Hawker Hotel, Elder Terrace, Hawker
Willow Waters - 20 km east of Hawker
Rawnsley Bluff - 36 km north on Wilpena road

   Town Heritage Walks

The Hawker Community Development Board has designed a walk and brochure, aimed at enlightening visitors on the building heritage and early pioneering history of Hawker. A Town Heritage Walk Guide is available at the Information Centre located in Hawker Motors.

   Police Hill Scenic Lookout

This lookout offers panoramic views of Hawker township and all the surrounding ranges including Elder Range, Wilpena Pound and Chace Range.

Walking time is approximately 40 minutes return. Start from the Hawker Hotel on Wonoka Terrace and proceed through a large gate in the fence line. Follow the track to the top of the hill where you will find a large stone on the right painted with directional arrows.

Police Hill was so named because it was used as a paddock for police horses and as a pound for straying stock found in the town.
